History

Calvary Church Blacksburg started as a house church in 2007. After a few false starts it finally began taking roots in 2018. With Pastor Don Palmer and his wife, Julie, the church has loved and cared for anyone who has walked through the doors. In 2020 CCB finally got the opportunity to move into its first building at The Bradley Study Center. After faithfully completing the work the Lord had called them to do in planting this Calvary church in Blacksburg, Pastor Don and his wife have moved on to their next calling while Pastor EJ Smith, his wife Callan, and their two daughters were called from Baton Rouge, LA to come lead the church after them. The Lord has truly had His hand on this church and has been preparing it for such a time as this.

Pastor EJ stepped into the role as lead Pastor in August of 2022 with a passion for spreading the love of Jesus through the teaching of God’s Word and discipleship.
